You can download scripts to create the Northwind and Pubs databases from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
They were originally designed for SQL Server 2000 , but they do work with 2005 (and I assume 2008 as well).
Install the .msi and you will get a folder C:\SQL Server 2000 Sample Databases. You can attach the pubs.mdf file directly, or run instpubs.sql in Management Studio.
