Default Chapter 19 Erking Me

Trying to use the web site administration tool to log on to sql server 2005 express. I have spent most of the last 48 hours trying to figure this out. Windows 7, x64 system, SQL Server 2005 Express (and Management Studio Express) are used. I've gone over dozens of google search links and they all have slightly different tweaks. I just want to connect to the SECURITY tab of the tool, and it won't work because of not connecting to the SQL server. Thanks.

Default Additional info

I think I need to configure asp.net to work with sql server 2005.
i found some links but it's not clear whether they are talking about
the web.config file in C\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework.... or about the web.config file WITHIN the application that I'm working on?

Default Just talking to myself here I guess

I think the problem, besides the impossible complications of this damn Microsoft setup system, is that specifically Visual Web Developer Express does not do what this book is instructing to do to learn web programming. Oh well. My cat is missing my attention. Onwards.
