After going through the exercises under Adding a New Column, pp.240-244, the display of Figure 8-5 in the book, may look different from your master-detail screen when you "run" the page..
In addition to the core information, from Items under Page Rendering: CUSTOMER NAME, DATE OF ORDER and ORDER SHIP DATE - - -
Top of Screen: Displayed "Learning APEX", as Theme 13 Blue-Gray, found under Shared Components Section.;
Also Displayed Tabs are: Orders, Maintenance, Reports, Purchases by Category, Purchases by Customers, Orders Calendars.

Still under the Shared Component Section: Breadcrumbs which are Orders > Master Details.

and last but not least, at the bottom of screen on the left displayed : Help with "No help is available for this page" is displayed underneath.
The above information was taken from the Edit of Page 4, which is master-detail page, which after listing all the pages in the Book Sample application, Page 4 is the only page I have defined as "Master-Detail". NOTE: The master-detail page may be different in your application.
