Default chapter 2 - page 41 problem creating the page..

hello everyone..
I tried to follow the steps from page 39 -> 44 in order to create a page to handle connections between ORDERS and ORDER_ITEMS but some of the steps are missing.. maybe because things changed since the book was written.

Things were different in my browser..In figure 2-28 you can see that there are 8 steps to finish the master detail .. In my browser there were 10 steps..
Being a newbie, I ended up doing this..

How can I make it right?

jorjiana:

From your posted screen, it is difficult to suggest how to fix it. If you are using Oracle 11g and Apex 3.2, the screen shots in the book are correct with the exception of Figure 2-30 on page 43, according to the ERRATA sheet, in chapter 2.
If your screen shots are the same as printed up to Figure 2-26 on page 40, I have the following suggestions:
  • Remove all pages after Figure 2-26. Creating the Master-Detail pages are a very important because they are referenced very often through out the book;
  • Each time you complete a number, 1-16, mark it off. This is your first of several long exercises and it will aide in keeping track of where you stopped;
  • Obtain a magnifying glass, if needed, to verify the fine print of the book's screen shots;
  • Keep the ERRATA Sheet next to you. Reference it when what you display is different from the screen shot. As I stated earlier, according to the ERRATA sheet Figure 2-30 is incorrect;
  • This particular section, Master-Detail, created 3 additional pages. I also make notes to myself in my book. I am glad I did, I can pass them on.
Don't feel bad, I had worked the exercises half way into chapter 4, before I started completely over.

So don't give up.....enjoy the journey!!!
