Default Chapter 1 - PHP installation issues

Hi,

First, thanks for the nice helpful forum.

The issue is concerning page 13-14. When attempting to load the "phptest.php" file, my browser simply shows the notepad data:

<html>
<head>
<title>PHP Testing</title>
</head>
<body>
<?php
echo "If this works, we <i>really</I> did it!";
?>
</body>
</html>

Something in the apache configuration file? PHP?

Thanks in advance :)

Default

i bought book 3days ago and start reading.
i have the same problem. apache is working alone but with php no.

i didn't understoot this chapter:
Quote:
8. Select the Advanced tab, and then click the Environment Variables button. Add the directory to
which you extracted PHP to your System ’ s PATH variable ( C:\PHP in our configuration). Also
create a new System variable PHPRC with the same directory as its value. This allows other
applications (such as Apache) to find PHP without your having to copy files into your System
directory.
someone help me?
