Default Problem Viewing Large Images

With respect to chapter 7 I cannot view my original large images. The dimensions of which are 1536 x 2048. Using localhost to view this image,
http://localhost/test/images/8.jpg I cannot view the image. However if I were to scale down the dimensions to 225 x 300 then it views fine. Why is this happening? Is there some buffer size that needs to be reset or some sampling value in either the httpd.conf or php.ini? Help.

Yes I was correct. When I upload the entire thing to my live server the large images show just fine. Which means there is something either in httpd.conf or php.ini controlling how much memory can be allocated to the browser or maybe to viewing an image? Am I correct??
