Default Configuring your MySQL Insatllation

I purchased this book-Beginning PHP5,Apache,MySQL Web Development yesterday & I installed WAMP5(1.7.3).I have WinXP Pro as my OS.I have WAMP5 installed in C:\wamp\.
But when I try to test mysql in the CommandPromptwith the commands listed in page 17 of the book viz.-
C:\wamp\mysql\bin>mysqld --install
I am getting the error-"The system cannot find the path specified."
When I try only '--install ' in the command prompt,I am getting this error - '--install' is not recognized as an internal or external command.
I am novice to programming, please kindly guide me.
I will be greatly obliged.
