Default displaying items from database horizontally

Hi there,

I am trying to display images from the database as per chapter 7 gallery.php but rather than dislpaying them vertically i'd like to do it horizontally. Same with the users in admin.php (chapter pg 454). if you have a lot of users/images they'll all end up way down the page which isn't very efficient use of screen realestate in my book. Any thoughts?
