Basic Python Installation

As instructed in the "Beginning Python" book, I downloaded the file "python-2.4.3.msi" and then tried to install it...got a message from the Windows Installer saying: "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer package."
Any clues what's wrong here?
