Question Using a customized web part in SharePoint

I am new to SharePoint development. When using a customized web part in SharePoint, I get this error eventhough I registered the dll using gacutil.exe:

"Unable to add selected web part(s). A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type is not registered as safe."

I would really appreciate it if someone can help.

Thx.
