Using Windows SharePoint 2010 Foundation with this book

I have Windows 7 x64 Home Premium
I have enabled SharePoint Foundation sites to use Designer
Here is what happens:
1. I open SharePoint Designer 2010
2. Click on Open Site
3. Copy and Paste my "Site URL" for my TOP LEVEL site, or any site for that matter. And get this error, no matter what site I try to open.
"http://nameofmypc/SitePages/Home.aspx" The Folder Name Is Not Valid.

I am trying to read this book "Beginning SharePoint Designer 2010", but cannot even get a site to work with.

Can you NOT use SharePoint 2010 Foundation with this book? Or am I not configuring something right. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
