Answer to why messagebox has no text
I found the answer to why the messagebox has no text in the MSDN newsgroups. I recently installed McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8. The new McAfee has several new features including anti-spam, firewall, and application access protection. Another new feature is Buffer Overflow Protection. For some reason, when this is enabled, it prevents the text from displaying in the messagebox. As soon as I disabled it, the messagebox behaved normally.
