Default XSD

Thearon (or anyone else who has an answer),

In an earlier book 'Beginning vb.net databases' you used XSD files in the Business Logic layer - In 'Beginning vb 2005 databases' you appear to have dropped this and coded the basic table structure in the Business Logic layer. Please could you explain why this is better as it involves more coding (unless there is a way to get the code self generated) also if the database structure changes it would be easier to simply update the XSD file

Thanks in advance

Jon,

In my earlier book I presented creating an XSD for the data structures which is a more automated way to do this. There are a lot of readers such as yourself who buy the next version of the book and I wanted to present another way to do the same task. You can still create an XSD following the steps in the previous edition of the book. Some of the steps may varying since you are working with a new release of Visual Studio.

Thanks for your continued support and for reading both books.

Thearon

Thearon,

Thanks for the reply

I found both books most useful - clear and easy to follow

Jonathan
