Default chp 8 - sql server does not exist or access denied

Hi

I've worked my way through all the other messages about using Chapter 8 with a laptop holding VB and SQL express on the same machine.

But, when I run the solution downloaded as well as my own version I get the same message. I have put "(local)" in the server name and have implemented the solution code to use windows authentication, but I get the message "[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied".

Can anyone help me with this?

I think I've done everything else including enabling the bits in SQL.

Regards

Anne

Anne,

You are not the only person to run into this problem. Use the Avanced Search to search only this forum and search on the term 'SQL Connection'. There are several posts that should be able to point you in the right direction.

If you still need further assistance after this let me know what progress you have made and I'll try to help further.

Thearon
