Default Should I go past chapter 13?

I was reading this book but now that i'm past chapter 13 seems like the rest deals with sql and stuff should i go past chapter 13 when all i wanna learn is vb.net

I would look at each chapter individually. Only 2 chapters focus on sql and the remaining are each focuced on one new topic. It would be worth your time to understand some of the topics covered as they can make creating solutions in vb.net much easier. They will all use vb.net as the language of choice so at least will get mofre practice at that in each chapter.

I've read from chapter 1 to 8 and jumped to chapter 15 as I'm working on database project and stuck with a particular step in the book.

I believe reading all the books is a good thing. VB.NET isn't just covered up to chapter 13.

I actually still stopped at 13 anyway and have been makeing programs since because of this book but i know i'll have to go back to read up on database's
