Default Chapter 18 Create a New Database p. 614

I am having a bit of a problem with the Try It Out on page 614. Upon reaching step #8, at which point the Add Connection dialog is opened, I find my dialog doesn't look like the one pictured in the book. I am therefore unable to select Server Name. Neither can I select or enter a database name.
As result, I cannot establish a connection to the SQL database the Try It Out is endeavoring to help me create.
Perhaps the book is written with Windows 2000 in mind, or a higher-grade version of Visual Studio. I am running Windows XP Pro, and the Standard Edition of VS.
Can someone help me? I really need to learn this stuff!
Thanks.
