Hello, I am the co-author of this book and I want to welcome you to the forum. What is really cool about this book, in addition to the numerous Try-It's to get you up and running quick, is the DVD !. The DVD is really up to date, as the screen casts are using the latest iOS at this time, that being iOS 5.1.
There were a number of changes with Xcode between 5.0, and 5.1. The DVD will walk you visually throughout the Try-It's using this latest version !!!

No DVD in the electronic edition
The DVD obviously didn't come with the kindle edition. Could you please confirm that all I am missing are the videos, which are available on the website anyways? Does the DVD have anything else?

I have yet to look at the physical DVD myself, but I believe the resources for the try it's are also on there. For example, the image png files, etc. Those are also available when you download the source code package.

just bought the book iphone and ipad 24-hour trainer.i can see the video in safari but in my loptap i can't see the link.Any body knows how to find the video lesson here?

Great and useful text!
Am very pleased with this text and tutorial. I am teaching a High School course on iPhone app development, and this text is a valuable resource. I am considering adopting it as a course text. Great work and thanks for the forum!

High school !!! That is great !
One thing to note is that when the text for the book went to print, 5.0 was the current version. When I was producing the screencast video, 5.1 was available and was used. If there is any confusion in the text, please go to the videos as they will clear up the confusion.
