Default SharePoint Requirement to do examples

I have a new HP desktop computer with 6 gigs of ram, Windows 7, Office 2010, and SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition. This means that I have all the requirements to do the examples in this books as listed in the introductory chapter except for access to a Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Enterprise Edition site that has PerformancePoint and PowerPivot enabled.

I found that I can install the free foundation edition of SharePoint 2010 on my Windows 7 desktop for development but not deployment. Will it help me to do the examples if I install the foundation edition?

Default Foundation SharePoint

Unfortunately, to use most of the Business Intelligence integration in SharePoint it will require Enterprise edition of SharePoint
