Default Drill-Through for a Multi Level Matrix Report

Hello there,
I have followed the recipe for this and am unable to get the desired results for the drill through on Years. The book says to 'add similar functionality to each appropriate level and group within the matrix: product, sub-cat and year'. However the parameter being passed through to the target report for years is all years whereas the source report is reporting just two years. What steps need to be taken to overcome this please?
Thanks,
Judy
