Default Creating file folders in htdocs

Hello

If anyone can please help out. Or read this book. I am trying to find a place to put my files. It appears by default Apache web server looks for web files in the htdocs folder. I am using windows O.S. and have xampp installed on C drive. In C drive the htdocs folder is under xampp. I’m trying to create a folder to place my class files in. But within the htdoc folder. Just needing one folder. Hoping or hopeful someone is familiar with this book. In the book there is also a section called Try It. In Chapter 2's Try It. I created a project naming it php24 appearing in PHP Explorer window. I right click on php24 project in the PHP explorer window and choose refresh. The project refreshes and another file lesson 2cs is supposed to open in php explorer under the php24 project. Using text editor Eclipse PHP for developers and having downloaded the books files. Can someone help me or shead some light on one problem or the other? Being an average newbie to PHP & MySQl. Any help in advance would be well appreciated. Can you show me how?
