Hi, im really new in php, and i hope this book could help me but nothing, im stuck in chapter 1 i worte all the code line x line, and download the code and nothing yet, the captcha png is not showing and is not sending the email for registration the database is working but the program is not working the way should be, i need to create a registration system where user can create a account recive email confirmation like when any user register for this forum, and it will be great someone tell us the rookies wich tools or intallations are neccesary to get all the code from this book WORK, remember there are people like me are NEW on this thanks

I´m not an expert. But maybe I could help you.
The first thing is your server configuration. If you´re using a windows based system the easiest way to have all running is to install the XAMP package.
Once you have the Apache server with the PHP and mysql properly configurated and running; just create the php files under the htdocs folder into the xamp directory.
Do you have your server running?

hi, thanks for your help , a have php apache and mysql, all working i can register user but the captcha not, and finally is sending email but only for recover password not for validate user registration (wich i need) the mail i found the problem was the smtp server in php.ini i put the mail server of my ISP (im new in php) right now i found the windows install doesnt include all the ext i need the gd library nothing all this is mencionated on the book may be im a rookie but remember there are a lot people like me who doesnt dont know all this again thanks for your help and if someone can help me to improve this code well thanks a lot,

The first user did not manage to register in the chapter 01. The problem perhaps is in user.php. I will be grateful for a help please!
