Default ch5 Fooreader zxmlDom is undefined

howdy ajaxers....

uploaded the code for the fooreader to my server (chapter 5)
when i direct my browser (ie7) to the test page suggested
http://readerdomain/xml.aspx?xml=....

i get yahoo top stories so it looks like the instal was good.

when i point the browser to the default.htm page i get a javascript error 'zXmlDom' is undefined and the loading never completes. I tried in firefox and it doenst give the js error but the loading just keeps going like ie.

the server is 2003 and is currently running a few asp sites and some php sites as well.

I am a little uncertain about server administration so I assume that there is probably a setting associated with this application that is not right. Does this zxml library need to be "installed" as well or pointed to? I used the code directly downloaded from here so i assume that the files in the reader app are updated and work fine...

i have full access to the server so can mess around directly with it.

thanks,

rich

This means the zXml.js file hasn't downloaded properly, could be a number of reasons:
  • you haven't a script tag pointing to the zXml.js file
  • The zXml.js file is not on the server
  • the zXml.js file is in a different place to where your script tag is pointing

To test try copy-and-pasting the code into the HTML rather than including it and see what happens.
