Default Configuring Tomcat 5.0 and IIS 5.1

I have tried to follow the instructions in Ch. 13 but I still get an error. Tomcat appears to be running, at least http://localhost:8080/admin works. When I try to access http://localhost/jsp-examples/dates/date.jsp I get the message "The servlet container is temporary unavailable or being upgraded". The book says to ensure that the Tomcat workers are properly configured and running. How can I check this?

Betty,
can you try another URL, http://localhost:8080/examples/jsp/dates/date.jsp? Actually, you can access this via the main page.

I can access Tomcat via localhost:8080 but the problem that I was having was getting jsp pages through IIS. I got it working by running a setup file that I found through Google. The only thing that I can see that was changed was to put Unix newline, carriage control characters at the end of each line in the workers.properties file. At least now I can test my jsp pages before I upload them to my host.
