Default Page_Load question

First of all - I have to say I am really enjoying this book.
This is, I think, the 4th ASP book I've bought and I keep going back to my other books thinking "Why didn't they talk about this?". It is very thorough and a good read.

Having said that - I have a pseudo-newbie question that I don't (still) understand);

If I have a user control on a page (that has a master page), I find that the page's Page_Load gets called a number of times. Is something wired up wrong and why exactly is it doing this?

(I confess to have not completed the entire 1000+ pages yet but even skimming through the remaining parts I don't see this topic).

Thanks,
Wayne.

Hi, Wayne,
I'm glad you're enjoying the book. Thanks for your comments about the book. Could you please post your code?

Thanks,
Shahram

oops, a code post - should have done that without being asked...

Actually the most recent issue was when trying somebody else's control:
http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/Code/20...mageCanvas.asp (I believe it is a fairly small & clean example with a aspx in the zip)
I have had this problem elsewhere - but I forget which project I had that issue in so I'll suggest try out this link and the problem is probably the same in my other situation.

I could have bugged the author of that other code about the issue - but then I wouldn't have thought of the opportunity to give kudos about the book
:)

FYI
Not exactly what I was trying to do - but I did find an example of a control that does work well http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/CaptchaControl.asp
This control works well.

The other post does say (at the bottom) it was not the right way to do things.
