Default .mdf files no good

The .mdf files included in the code download point to a file path on a wrox server somewhere. because of this, I cannot load them into SQL2005. Is there a work around for this issue? here's the error message.

Attach database failed for Server
 (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)

An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo)

Could not find row in sysindexes for database ID 10, object ID 1, index ID 1. Run DBCC CHECKTABLE on sysindexes.
Could not open new database 'D:\MINE2\AUTHORREVIEW\793507 CH08\CODE\CUSTOMHTTPHANDLERFACTORY\APP_DATA\ARTICL ESDB.MDF'. CREATE DATABASE is aborted. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 602)

Hmm...I was able to succesfully download and attach the .mdf files to my sql server 2005 developer machine without error..

But be warned however - the author doesn't even visit these forums very often neither does he bother to update the errata for this book. And it contains SEVERAL errors both in code and the text.

I will have to try again. Any ideas why it would try to find the old path to the file when attaching to SQL2005?

Hi, papakev123,
I just downloaded the same .mdf file that you mentioned in your posting and successfully attached it to my SQL Server 2005 without error. You may want to give it another shot and post more information about the error you're getting.

Cheers!
Shahram
