Default No 'Release' mode for build

I have read chapter 29 'Packaging and Deploying ASP.NET Applications'. In the steps before deploying section it states you should build your application in 'Release mode'. Whatever I do I cannot get Visual Studio 2005 Pro to give me a release option for build, only a debug. Has this changed since the book was written? Can anyone tell me how to get a release mode option? I have looked in configuration manager and the only profile that exists is 'debug'

Other than this, I have found the book very good.
