Default no images, nor most code, available?

it's a shame the images (and while i'm about it, also the various bits of code), aren't available for download. i know the chapter 9 code is available but why not everything? in particular the images?

i mean the images displayed on page 110 -- you can't actually see them at all in the screenshot. i think they're bent lines. i don't know if the background should be transparent or something?

why am i having to ask these questions in a forum and not have this clearly stated in the book and have the images available for download so as to be able not to waste time?
