General Comment About The Book
Let me start by saying that I've been an applications and database programmer for over 30 years and have a huge library of books both beginner how-to's through professional reference guides covering a veritable plethora of programming languages but have just now started working with the iOS operating system.
So as is my custom I started searching for books that could show me around the system and help me learn what I needed to know. Every single one I encountered focused on the famous 'hello world' and then how to build mediocre and useless games. If they touched on databases at all the information they included was mostly perfunctory and useless.
And since I write business applications and programs and I could care less about writing a game, I had about given up finding any book that delved into database programming under iOS until I found this one.
At first I was skeptical but the more I've worked through the examples and studied the code included with the book, the more I appreciate the job the author has done in putting this together.
It's well planned, well laid out, well written and easy to follow and if you're a database programmer who wants to know 'how do it do this and that?' this is a wonderful resource.
Good job
