Default Search fault

Using the Catalog-Indexed example (in Chapter 3) I find that if I have some products in the Products table that have a Name that starts with an 'A' then when you enter a search letter into the search text box the section header for 'A' remains on the screen. If there are no products that have Names that start with an 'A' then there is no section header shown at this point. Why is this? The Iphone's Contacts app. does not behave like this.
