I have set up intellij and tomcat per the books instructions, but when I go to run the downloaded examples I get the following error:
Application Server was not connected before run configuration stop, reason: Unable to ping server at localhost:1099

I was able to resolve the problem by creating a new build configuration. For some reason the configurations that came with the project do not work, even if I have the same settings as in the new build configuration I make.
