The book and the online documentation say, that the timeoutport(1000) is a wait for 1000 milliseconds, but if i do that, it waits for 10 seconds, and not 1 second, is this a bug or something else?
As discussed in the RDS Forum, this appears to be something peculiar to your system. The parameter is in milliseconds so 1000 should wait for one second.
