Default HOWTO: VPL services with multiple in/out connection points?

I need to create VPL services with multiple input/output connection points. The VPL basic activities 'Join' and 'Switch' are 'similar' to what I need - so it should be feasible.

Apparently this can't be done within VPL itself but there should be a way to create these multi-connector services using C# and DSS/CCR services.

What is the best way to do this and where can I find simple examples (in C#) that I can build to study and experiment with these concepts?

Thanks for you advice.
