Default Ch. 14 & ulysses

/usr/local/lib/php/ulysses/phpm/requires.phpm includes multiple other files and classes. Most of them are not in the current (3.0.27) Ulysses release and no older versions are available for download. It's a definite showstopper.

That's a pity because in this chapter a lot of the previously advocated methods should come together.

Ome Ko have you try Ulysses right? Can you help me please with the installation? On page 345 is not explained well..

The ulysses directory unzipped is right in the localhost directory? (system root)
Or i've to copy in a include_path directory as "c:/php/PEAR" ? I'm on Win Xp 32 bit..

And for the Apache configuration what have you done? copy the <virtualHost> text in the httpd-vhosts.conf or other else?

And for the folders tpl, phpm, phpm/business etc.. do you have create these in localhost as explained on the book or you have used the folder inside ulysses?

It's very very confused this chapter.. interesting but confused =( same thing for the PHPUnit framework installation.. i try but nothing.. =(

Please help..

It won't work on Unix so you probably shouldn't even think about trying this on Windows.

You can download an older version of the framework here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/ulys...yssesframewor/

Not the code is small so it should not be difficult to get an overview of the code and understand it.

See this

PDOFactory in chapter 7

thread for further information. There are similar Python frameworsk like Django. I think that you get synergi effects by knowing Python / Django, since object relational mapping (ORM) is central in both Django and Ulyssis. It seems that there is no development on Ulysses, but if you understand it, you should be able to develop it further yourself. For more information see my forum http://www.oopschool.com/phpBB3/ that is closed for posting by members because of spam.
