Default Reporting Services Login box appears

Hi All,

I am using vista and installed SQL Server 2005 SP2 recently. After that when I try to
deploy a solution in SSRS 2005, I get a dialog box with title:
"Reporting Services Login". It has my server listed as the first row:
"http://localhost/reportserver" and then it has two text boxes asking
for Username and Password.
What is is login box.how can i remove it?

cheers
zolf

Well I too was having the same problem. I was trying to post to a particular folder that i had created in report manager, then deploy from BI. I had the same issue UNTIL i deployed straight to the main folder only http://localhost/reportserver then wala it did it....soooo obviously there is some sort of security\permissions causing a problem but i have been unsuccessful in figuring out where the disconnect is considering im and admin across the board on all machines.. grrrr... Any insight anyone else has would be greatly appreciated.

Well i found it for my case. I was trying to deploy to a particular folder from the Target Server URL... you dont do it there.. the target server url must be http:\\servername\reportserver THE FOLDER you want it to go to must be specified in the "target report folder" end of story i no longer get the repeated login prompt! Hopefully this will help others w/same issues.

Hi,

I am using SQL Server Express Edition 2005 with reporting services...

in IE, Report manager works with this link, http://localhost/reports$SQLExpress

so, in business management studio, project properties (targetserverURL) should be http://localhost/reports$SQLExpress ?

If YES then
when i am trying to deploy the report its asking me reporting services login/password.

If NO then please help me with each step, when i am making mistake?
WHere can i find the report server correct name and what exactly should be in target server URL?

Please help me.

Hello,
While configuring the reporting service through the report manager, set the virtual directory name other than 'reports'. You can refer to the following url if needed
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../ms178460.aspx
