Default Page cannot be displayed - localhost/reportserver

I have a problem that when I finished installing I tried to access http://localhost/reportserver and I received a "Page cannot be displayed" error. I think that it might be an IIS error, but I don't know. I also tried to run the sample reports and right after it runs it says
Server: Localhost/reportserver <-- I set to this
Username:
Password:
I don't know what the username and password is for. I tried my machine password and I didn't work and various other people in my company tried different passwords and they did not work. I don't know if these two problems are related.

I am using MS SQL Server 2000, Windows 2003 Server.
I am an administrator for that computer.

thanks,
Michael Hsu

I have the same problem. And the same system configuration. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

ok, stupid question when you try to access using "localhost", you ARE on the machine running IIS, right?

Open IIS on the server, drill down to the virtual directory "reportmanager". Right click on it and select "browse". This should attempt to open the website, and it might give you a more descriptive error.

Also, what I was asking in my first post was that when you are typing "http://localhost/reportserver", you ARE doing this on the server, and not on a different machine, correct?

it's fixed now I had to open an incident with Microsoft and they fixed it. The problem was with IIS. I had something wrong with my default folder and a permissions problem when you click on the header in the properties called directory security. I also had to add my domain name in front of all my usernames concerning reporting services.
