Default Report generated in PDF format

Hi all,
i am using the SQL server reporting service to generate a report in the PDF format. But the size of the PDF report created is bigger compared to the size of the same report generated in Excel format. Is there a way to reduce the size of the report generated in the PDF format?

thanks,
prasanth
