surfer, you are right; my IIS does not recognize .svc file therefore it displays it as a text file.

I just came out from the Properites -> Configuration tab, and I do not see any .svc extension. Can you edit yours and give me the detail of it? I just don't know which DLL to browse to. Thanks surfer.

well, i found the sample setup, but it's still not working.

I added the .svc, and browse to the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspn et_isapi.dll
Verbs -> Limit to: GET, HEAD, POST, DEBUG
Script Engine = Checked

That's all ... i restart the IIS and tried localhost/WCFDemoService/service.svc ... same result ...

do you think i need to register that dll or anything?

Hi wishstar99,

Excellent progress!!

At this point you need to configure IIS AND OR possibly reinstall .Net 3.0.

Run "aspnet_regiis.exe" from the command line. Pass it the /? option to get the help. This executable is down in the Microsoft.Net Framework v2.0 folders in your Windows folder. I think the -i option is enough.

I found this article:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms752252.aspx

I think you are there!!

Dear friends,
Change the localhost to your computer name. It means change the http://localhost/WCFServiceDemo/service.svc

TO:

http://[your pc name]/WCFServiceDemo/service.svc

i.e:
http://Smith-pc/WCFServiceDemo/service.svc

Check the ASP.NET version for the virtual folder in IIS. It should be 2.0. The default is 1.1. With the default version, IE prints the text in svc file.

For me the above changed fixed the problem.
