Default flXHR problem. unable to get started

Hello Jack. I really love your book and find it very usesfull.

I downloaded flxHR, copied the /deploy folder contents to my /scripts folder,
included the flxHR.js in my html page
and ran the page (the http way).

I get lots of errors like these:
y.base_path is undefined
y.checkplayer is undefined
y.ua is undefined
E.attachEvent is not a function

I saw in the example code that you do not include additional scripts.

thank you
Yaron

Do you have flash installed? I believe that you need the following files in the scripts folder for flXHR to work:

checkplayer.js flXHR.vbs strophe.js
flXHR.js flensed.js swfobject.js
flXHR.swf strophe.flxhr.js updateplayer.swf

Default I have them all

my html file only references the flxhr.js file.
As I understand, this file loads all the dependencies (no need to reference them all).

Do you mean - does my browser have the flash plugin installed?
If you do - I have flash version 10,0,45,2

I have uploaded the tester file (&scripts) to:
http://www.wsdis.com/tests/flxhr_test.html
It's an empty html file with a script tag referencing flxhr.js.
Firebug shows me that there is something missing, some dependency, and I cann't figure out what it is.

my strophe(js) library works. I can speak with my OpenFire local server,
but I cannot make cross-domain calls yet.

thanks

That file loads fine for me. Firebug shows no errors, and the net panel shows me that it grabbed both flXHR.js and checkplayer.js.

I'm using Firefox 3.6.3.

It seems to work in IE and chrome.
It's probably my version of FireFox: 3.5.9

Thanks for the help
