hello,everyone,I have a difficulty when I learn the ch06 in Professional XMPP Programming with JavaScript and jQuery .I have created an account through http://register.jabber.org.but the account only hava a JID without a name.but there are JID and name in the Gab contact_dialog called add a contact .who could help tell me what the name is?and where could I see and edit my account name?thank you very much!

The name is just any name you would like that JID to be referenced by. It is set by you, not by the server, and it's only purpose is to serve as identification for you instead of having to remember the JID. This is the name that will be displayed in the roster list. If you leave it blank, it will just display the JID.

You can set a name for a contact when you store the contact in your roster.

You aren't in your own roster, so you're own name must get stored somewhere else, generally as client state.
