Default gem has no -system option.

My machine is compaqmini + windows XP

The following happened:
1. downloaded one-click-ruby-installer and installed (dbl clicked ...)-
2. ruby -v ==> 1.8.6....
3. gem -v ==> 1.3.1

4. then trained ruby programming for a month.

5. gem update -system ==> the terminal says that -system option is not a possibility.
6. gem -h ==> confirms that gem has no -system option.

(gem update ==> errors..)

wonder why gem has no -system option.

Any help is very welcome

Kind regards
Erik Jacobsen

Hi Erik,

thanks for your question. Unfortunately my double minus (--) has been automatically converted into a single long dash somewhere in the production process.

You can run:

C:\> gem update --system
