I doubt that this is an error in the book, but it could be that something was left out... I am created the "simple one-line workflow" from the bottom of page 75, the category unique key from the helpdesk example (chap 4).

First, it appears that this workflow must be created in the designer, and I have done it in two different ways: I started from the browser UI and clicked to create a workflow with the designer. Although it does appear in the workflows, it doesn't show up on the list when I click "open associated list" from the workflow definition.

So I did it again, starting from the list, New... Workflows. This one also shows up in the workflows, but still not on the list.

On both of these workflow definitions, the associated list is displayed and it is correct.

I am totally new to sharepoint and so I didn't know that my workflow needed to be published. It is working now. Thanx!!!
