Default C# as a scripting langauge

Hey y'all,:)

Started learning C# the other day - by the way Professional C# 2005 is a great book;). I've got two questions:
1. Can C# be used as a scripting language?

2. If so, will it be interpreted or compiled - and will you be able to use COM interop?

Cheers!:)
