Default c# on linux

hi expert
i programming on c# on wndows
i want to find best enviroment for linux (redhat or suse or ...) for c# programming
wis there any enviroment for c#.net programmin on linux?
if there is please say where i can download it?

You can NOT run C# on Linux as the .NET framework relies on the windows apis and such to run. (Parts of it anyway) The closest there is to C# on linux is the Open source project Mono.

I've used a couple C# based apps compiled with the Mono Framework and was quite impressed. Hopefully one of these days I'll find the time to port some programs over to the Linux environment (apparently it's quite easy). C# is infact alive and well on Linux, Mono is currently supported on GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, UNIX, Mac OS X, Solaris and Windows operating systems.

but if it is possible for you answer my question

i dowanloaded mono-1.2.3.1.tar.gz
but i dont know how install this pacage on redhat

Try extracting the files first.

tar -xzvf /directory/mono-1.2.3.1.tar.gz

or using File Roller (included with Red Hat)
