Default controling MDI menu from child

Hi !
i want to access the menu options of mdi pqarent window from child window to enable or disable them. Do i need to declare the entire menustrip of parent as public or static ? is there any better alternative ? any help will be appreciated.

You either need the menustrip to be public, or exposed via a property. Making it static is NOT what you are after.
