am i on the right way?

Good day all
i bought the book recently but i'm not quiet sure if i am on the right path, my purpose is to start developing software (games) for both smart phones and windows, i know it may seem awkward, but all i ask is a little guidance.
now...does it begin with C#?
and if any1 give me tips or shortcuts i would be glad
