Default Herro! What to use?

Hello, Im j and I am trying to learn C++. I have some experience in web dev/programming(PHP/MySQL).

Basicly the reason I am posting is because i am seeking suggestions on any freeware/really-cheap IDE/Compilers and any other useful tools there may be..

Thanks for any suggestions,

Hi there.
There are many free IDE's available over the net. The most popular one is turbo C++. It has two main contenders, Borland C++ and turbo C++. But i m personally using Microsoft VC++ 6.0 U can get the turbo compilers free, just type and search in google.
Best wishes.
Happy learning C++

Thanks for the info. I've heard of borland in the last day or so and read that it was just a command-line compiler(In my mind that mean start>run... or dos prompt..lol

Did I misinterpret?

If you try to learn to use Google you will find many C++ IDE's on the net, many of which are free. Try searching for "C++ IDE" - that should be simple enough for you.

Borland has been around for many years now - I am glad you have just heard of it!! However Borland C++ and Turbo C++ are now obsolete and also non-standard. You should learn to use Dev-C++. You could also do a Google on that.

Alan.
