Hi!
I've read the 'Ivor Horton's Beginning Visual C++ 2013' book and I have found it useful to some extend since I am trying to learn C++. At the moment I am reading 'C++ Primer Plus' by Prata which I find hard to follow in some cases.
My request from wrox people is for a well written pure C++ book that will cover beginners and advanced topics.
Well, for mordern C++ standards, you could try C++ Primer 5th or 4th edition. This book is an excellent tutorial to the language. There is also Al Stevens' C++ Programming 7th edition book.
