Default Very urgent !!!

Hi,
I have made an MDI application that has a menu and toolbar on it.In the child form i have a xtragrid component. Now i have handled an editvaluechanging event on a datetme repository.
Whenever a user changes a date and as soon as focus changes from that repository, the event is fired and appropriate message is shown to the user.
Now ,when i switch to another application just after changing the date the editvaluechanging event fires and this i dont want.Because it looks very odd when control is not on ur application and even then some message pops up due to change of date.

Plz help me
