Default Windows Service

I need to constantly monitor files. I am in dillema of either writing windows application and schedule the task that would run in certain interval OR write a windows service and install it in server.

Can u guys tell me the pros and cons of both and what would be the best approach.

thanks

I would go with the service combined with the FileWatcher class. Writing a service is fairly easy as it's a project option. You can also create an install and set up project, see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...pplication.asp and http://blogs.msdn.com/dditweb/archiv...0_-Part-I.aspx
