Personal opinion: you might want to get a book that is specifically geared towards the MCSD/MCAD certification as they better guide you in the types of questions you will face on the written exam.

That is not to say reading this book is for not, I am sure you can learn many things from it, but IMHO I don't think it will hit on all of the things that will be presented to you on the MCAD.

I don't know anything about that book, and I don't know where the answers might be. However, in that sort of book the answers are usually pretty clearly presented in the text of the chapter - and are meant to be used as a study help. That is, if you don't remember the answer to a question you would go back and review or skim the chapter to find the material that answers it.

However, my recommended approach for test prep on the MCSD or MCAD is to use a test prep package, such as from Measure Up. I used to use the Transcender tests, but I took the C# Web test recently and found that the Transcender prep for it was not useful. Luckily I have a pretty deep understanding of C# and .NET in general, and did well on the test. But I have now switched to Measure Up for my next test.

Previously, using the test preps for the VB6 MCSD I was able to breeze through the certs, so I suggest giving it a try.

MCTS/MCPD are the way forward.

MCAD/MCSD are being made obsolete.

It is untrue that MCSD is being made obsolete. There are no plans from Microsoft to "expire" any certification. Also, you can easily upgrade MCSD certs to MCPD or MCTS certs. Even pre .NET certs are still valid and according to Microsoft are still supported and recognized by them.
